EVERLASTING STRENGTH

Sue O’Donnell. 20.08.20

“My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth...and on My arm they will trust.”(Isaiah 51 v 5)

Gratitude is an attitude of appreciation.

What a lot we have got to be grateful for.

The divine heart of the Lord Jesus,

His real presence offered us in the sacrifice of the cross,

Surely outclasses all other benefits?

Although equally must be the other gifts extraordinary.

“Walk in the ways the Spirit leads you, and you will not gratify what your self life desired.” (Galatians 5 v 16 The Truth)

That gift of the Holy Spirit adding merit to daily life.

Is the One who through a love for the Lord Jesus,

Helps us to overcome the stress of sinfulness.

The Spirit unites us to the Saviour

And the benefit is such an amazing blessing.

“ ‘Those who accept My commandments and obey them are the ones who love Me. And because they love Me, My Father will love them, and I will love them and reveal Myself to each of them’.” (John 14 v 21 NLT)

What a most privileged status is offered us.

The love of the Lord Jesus is an amazing gift.

We accept this, call on His Spirit of love,

And life changes way above anything we could do.

Our dependency upon the Holy Trinity,

What a glorious life is given you and me!

“ ‘I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread (s)he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world’.” (John 6 v 51)

The most sacred heart and most precious blood of Jesus.

Offered up on the †for us, for our forgiveness,

This is our highest happiness, a true joy.

In its wake develops a sense of peace,

In the decided release of our sin to begin again.

Hope too, develops through the power of holy love from above.

“By God’s divine will, we have already been made holy through one sacrifice of Jesus Christ’s own body. Now we are set apart for God, made totally acceptable and pleasing to Him.” (Hebrews 10 v 10 The Truth)

“You will keep him (her) in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you. Because (s)he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD is everlasting strength.” (Isaiah 26 v 3, 4)

“Who is like You O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in praises, working wonders? (Exodus 15 v 11 NASB) No one!

So let us pray.
